I've just entered (long course). I was on the Etape with Fred from the Reading club when the news of Anthony's death came through a couple of years ago, but couldn't make it last year.

So, got round in 8.47 total (including a social/bacon butty stop with the grandchildren near Swindon  ) - about 8:10 moving time which I was happy with as it was my first century of the year (195K) and, I think the first time I've done 100 miles in <7 hours (although I'd have done it on the Etape last year if the last 10 hadn't been up Mont Ventoux!) ;)

Weather and headwind wasn't much fun in the first half, but the organisation was excellent. I'd definitely recommend this ride for next year.

good ride Bob
planned to ride the long route, but when we got to the 1st check point it looked like it was going to be a grim day so bottled it and opted for the 110 km and i was getting a bit fed up with the wind, seemed like deja vou from last year when we did the long course, one thing i must say is what a well run event and a bit disappointed i did not do the long route and the people who help out are such a good laugh
