Farnborough & Camberley Cycling Club

Cancellation of Christmas 10

As some will know, the club's open 10 was cancelled before Christmas because of the poor weather. It was decided that the entry money, after expenses, should be donated to the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

The club has received a letter from the Hospice, which starts as follows:

"Thank you for your donation of £473.18 which you have kindly sent to us from The Farnborough and Camberley Cycling Club. How disappointing that you had to cancel your time trial, however, how generous of all the members to agree to us receiving the entry fees. We were thrilled to receive this gift, please pass on our thanks to all the members of the club".

The Hospice has an open day on Thursday 18th March, 2010. Call 01252 729446 to book a place.

Childrens' FCCC kit

Martin has some items of older style kit, suitable for children of various sizes or even very small adults. It's a shame to have it rotting in a corner.

The kit would make an ideal present for any youngsters.

Check Martin's post in the forum for sizes, prices and availability.

Nik Wins Again!

nik_tt

For the second year running, club member Nik Bowdler has won the prestigious 'British Best All Rounder' (BBAR) award. To win the title, Nik had to have the fastest average speed over a 12 hour ride, a 100mile ride and a 50 mile. Details are on the Cycling time trials site.

There's an article on the Cycling Weekly site.

Conratulations, Nik!

For the story of the nail biting finish, check the forum. And for a picture of the chain ring see this.

Pictures welcome!

There is a gallery on the website where pictures can be posted - it would be good to see some more if anybody has any! If you have just a few, you can create a categcamera-icon-thumb868106ory and upload the images. If you have a lot, liaise with Bob about the best way to get them on and categorised.
