As you would have seen from the article on the home page the club is offering to pay the entry fee (£60.00) for teams in this years' Surrey League 4-up Team Time Trial. The event takes place on Saturday 8th September. Unfortunately this is the same date as the clubs 25 mile TT championships, but the event doesn't kick off until 13:30pm. The TTT will be 34 miles long and take place over 34 based on a rolling course near Alford.

The event is open to Seniors, Under 23, Juniors, Women and Vets categories.

Depending on the numbers we would look to enter teams of mixed categories but of equal abilities, as its important to make sure everyone rides at the same pace and together. As you need to finish together as a team!

As this is being promoted under the British Cycling rules you will need to hold a BC racing licence. If you don't then don't worry as you can pay £10.00 for a day licence (required for insurance purposes).

Remember we'll be organising a training session at reading track so that teams will be able to learn how to ride together in a safe environment (see front page).

So if you are interested the please let me know so that we can start to organise entries and teams.

It would be great if a few of us vets could put a team together. What do you think Martin, Simon and Nick C. ? Though I realise you will all probably want to do the club TT champs...

Think this is a good idea for the club to sponsor.
If you have interest from similar ability riders to myself to form a 'lower ability' team as well, then I could be up for it, though would point out that a) I've never solo TT'd more than 11.5mls, b) never team TT'd. c) was targetting the club 25 as being my first 25 (couldn't possibly do both!).

So you probably have better options anyway, but happy to make up numbers if needed at the right level, or be a reserve. Hopefully will be able to get to the track practices anyway.

Small, probably impractical, idea: how feasible would it be for the committee to designate the 13th October TT as the Club 25ml Championship rather than the 8th September TT?

I think you will find that the October date is the reserve in case of adverse weather or course problems, like a couple of years ago.
