Surrey Cycletta
Gill has asked me to give the Surrey Cycletta a mention. It is an organised ladies event and will be in Surrey for the first time this year. It is starting off from Loseley House, on Saturday 6th July, and there is going to be a 12 mile, a 20 mile and a 35 mile ride. Gill is entering the 35 mile and thought it would be nice to have a group of FCCC ladies taking part.
Cycletta is supported by BC, Macmillan Cancer Support and 'ambassador', Victoria Pendleton.
Monthly FCCC Track Riding sessions - Update!

To encourage the use of the track, the club has decided to fund the cost of attending track sessions on the first Tuesday. Let Dick know if you plan to take up the offer.
For those interested in improving on the track, join other club members on the first Tuesday of each month at Palmer Park, Reading (the first one is the 8th January to miss New Year). Sessions start at 8.15 and cost £5.50 per person. Tuesday nights are for road bikes throughout the year.
Information on track riding, directions to the velodrome and more here.
13th April TT - and Road Race
We have set up a new system to keep track of the members that have so far volunteered for the 13th April TT and the Road Race on May 12th morning or afternoon.
To register as a volunteer, make sure that you are logged in and select the event on the calendar (or from the link above) and select the option to 'attend event'. There is a drop down so that you can request a particular job if you need to or are particularly qualified.
Note that the option is not available if you are not logged in as a member, and the list of attendees is only viewable by members.
I have added the names that I have got so far from David. If your name is listed, you can amend the job if appropriate. If you need to delete, then contact David.
We still need some volunteers for both events.
(We are trying to develop a scheme to track and reward contributions to the club, but it is still a 'work in progress'. If you have ideas about how it could be done, contact Bob or Alan).
10% off all waxing treatments for FCCC members

FCCC Open TT 16th March
Thanks to Chris for organising yesterday's event and getting the results out so quickly (which meant we got a mention in Cycling Weekly. They are attached, but you'll need to look here to download as they aren't available to download on the front page.
Thanks also to Brian Philpott, Donald Ashton, Dick Poole, Ron Osborne, Wendy Pails, Mike O'Donovan, Adrian Bunting, Ron Taylor and Jo Neville for their help on an unpleasant cold and wet day. Without the help, such events could not happen.
Keith has posted some pictures (link from here) and I have posted some I grabbed as I waved people around here (not quite up to Keith's standard!)
(Note update to results sheet to reflect win in the team competition by Kingston Wheelers)

Dick's talk on 'Your First TT'
Thanks to Dick Poole for his talk on 'Entering your first TT' which was well attended. For those that could not get along, I have attached the PPT file that he showed.
Go to here to download the PPT as it won't show on the front page of the site!
Volunteers for Road Race and TT still needed
Thank you to all those who have responded to volunteering for the club TT's in March and April and the Road Race in May.
The March 16th TT now has the volunteers it needs but we need more for the April 13th TT and the RR.
If you have not yet made contact with David to support the remaining events, he is ready to add you to the list!
